Janitor and General Maintenance

Janitor and General Maintenance

King Christian School is a vibrant school and is growing. We are seeking a full-time janitor to help maintain the cleanliness of the school and to complete general maintenance items. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, personable, hardworking and loves a busy, energetic working atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

Daily cleaning of the south end of the building (gym, servery, washrooms, foyer)
Any immediate caretaker needs during the school day
All high touch surfaces in classrooms and washrooms including the restocking of all dispensers
Weekly and monthly building safety inspections
General maintenance items
Summer deep clean, carpet cleaning, waxing, windows
Recording in all log books and updating all regulatory requirements
Salting and light snow removal as required
Additional duties as required

This is a full-time position with daily hours of 5:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will receive 4 weeks’ vacation at specified times during the school year.

Qualifications and Skills:

Excellent communication, organizational and time management skills
Strong problem solving skills
Highly responsible and reliable
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Self-motivated and able to identify areas requiring immediate attention and improvement

Education and Experience

OSSD
Previous cleaning experience is an asset
Valid driver’s license
